Print this Guide to Wedding Reception Events
This order
of events is suggested to you as a courtesy of "Creative Sound Entertainment".
It's purpose is to make sure there are no surprises and establish a program
that we will follow throughout the reception. Our goal is to coordinate
your reception based on your preferences so you can relax and enjoy your
wedding day. Print out this sheet and indicate your starting times in
the spaces provided.
Wedding
ceremony starting time: __________________
We can assist you with music for the ceremony
if it is at the same place as the reception. We can also provide a cassette
tape for your rehearsal.
Arrival of guests
at the reception: __________________
This is normally when the D.J.'s time will
start. Usually the guests arrive at the reception before the bride and
groom due to picture taking. Background music will be supplied.
Receiving line starting
time: __________________
The D.J. can introduce the Wedding Party
by name or the Bride and Groom only. The receiving line is an option,
you may have it at the church, at the reception, or not at all. It is
acceptable for the Bride and Groom to greet each table separately later
during the reception.
Catered refreshments
starting time: __________________
Whether you are having a sit down dinner
or a buffet, background music will be supplied during this period. The
D.J. will invite the Bridal party to the buffet first followed by your
guests.
Toast and cake
cutting: __________________
The D.J. will observe the progress of dinner
and suggest a proper time for the toast. A microphone will be available
for the Best Man or anyone else wanting to toast the bride and groom.
Once the toast is complete, the Bride and groom will cut their cake.
First dance starting
time: __________________
The Bride and Groom dance at this time to
a previously selected song. This is suggested since the toast, cake cutting,
and first dance require everyone's attention and for the Bride and Groom
to be together. The D.J. will make the appropriate announcements.
Parent's or father/daughter
dance: __________________
This is an option. The purpose is to honor
the parents of the Bride and Groom. A previously selected song will be
played.
Wedding party dance
starting time: __________________
This is an option. The purpose is to honor
the Bridal Party. It can be performed to a separate song or it can be
combined with the parents dance. A previously selected song will be played.
Open dancing
starting time: __________________
The dancing atmosphere at this time is held
to a moderate tempo. Music selections during this period are usually from
the Big Band Era, the Fifties, and soft rock. Your guests will be prompted
for music suggestions throughout the dancing program.
Bouquet and garter
toss: __________________
The music will stop for the bouquet & garter
toss. The D.J. will announce a request for all eligible men and women
to participate.
Money dance starting
time: __________________
This is an option. Some may refer to this
as the honeymoon dance. The D.J. will make announcements to assist in
coordinating the dance.
Open dancing starting
time: __________________
The rest of the reception will be open dancing
with music selections from the 80's & 90's, including classic rock, old
standards, requests, crowd response, and preselected songs. The tempo
will pick up. Additional hours can be arranged at this time.
