| As
a teenager, DJ Mike lived around the block from KNDE radio station
in Sacramento. Planning to be a DJ someday, he would spend hours
peering through the studio window, watching the DJ play 45 rpm records.
From 1970 to 1980, Mike was an active musician, playing trumpet
in school and community bands. He developed an acute ear for quality
sound in both live and recorded music. He experimented with sound
system design, recording effects, and sound reinforcement. Mike
designed and built his first sound system and continues to repair
and maintain all of his own equipment. In the early 70's, Mike mentored
behind Sacramento's first mobile DJs, Terry Knight, Gene Lane, and
"Canned Music" as an apprentice DJ for 3 years.
Mike performed his first solo wedding in 1973. He became
an expert at organizing fomalities, creating a festive atmosphere,
monitoring the progress of events, and selecting the right music
for the right moment. His company grew through the 80's, requiring
a business license in each of 6 counties, an answering service,
and 13 DJs to cover all of the work. A marketing plan was developed
to cater to each client's personal needs. In 1990, to provide more
personal attention to each client, Mike scaled back to a sole proprietor.
In the following five to 10 years, DJs transformed from just playing
music at parties, to professional entertainment coordinators. When
you look at Mike's scrapbook
of pictures, since 1973, you see changes
the mobile DJ business has experienced in the last 30 years. Since
then, Mike has successfully sharpened his skills as event coordinator,
master of ceremonies, and party host. From a formal wedding, to
corporate holiday party, to a sweet-sixteen party, DJ Mike gives
you the benefit of his experience.

Since
one of Mike's first pictures as a disc jockey (around 1978),
he has performed nearly 3,000 functions. In 2006, he was elected
President of the local Chapter of the American Disc Jockey Association,
promoting professional standards within our industry. We continue
to support local charity events. Here are some articles, (Cancer
Carnival) and (Serrano),
covering those events. Mike's most memorable event was performing
for the Governor of California, George Deukmajian's private staff
party for three years in a row. In 2004, Mike joined forces with
DJ Lisa, formerly of Hot Rocks DJ Services. "Creative Sound
Recording" was changed to"Creative Sound Entertainment".
Lisa brings a robust wealth of experience and a fine touch to details
of each event. We have the latest in digital technology. If
you are in the Sacramento area, call us for your disc jockey needs.
